Clinical name: Dynamic and static rhytides
Lines on the forehead, between the brows, or around the eyes.
The cause
Repeated muscle contraction first, then collagen loss and sun exposure over time. The distinction that matters: a line visible when you speak (dynamic) versus one visible at rest (static). The treatments differ.
What we can actually change
Dynamic lines soften 70–90% with botulinum for 3–5 months, then return. Static lines do not respond to botulinum — they need collagen stimulation or filler, with 30–50% improvement. We do not freeze faces; the result we aim at is that your movement still looks like yours.

This will not work if
- If the line is visible at complete rest — botulinum alone will not get you there, and we say so rather than take the fee.
- If you have a neuromuscular disorder — contraindicated.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding — we postpone.
- If you want a face with no movement at all — we are not the right clinic, and that is our choice.
Aftercare
- Do not lie face-down for 4 hours
- No strenuous exercise the same day
- Daily sunscreen
Questions we are asked
- Will it be obvious I have had something done?
- That depends on the dose. We start lower than usual, review at two weeks, and add if needed — the reverse of the common order, because adding is correctable and over-treatment cannot be undone for three months.
