Aftercare

This page is open to everyone and needs no booking. If you had your session elsewhere and need to know what to do, read it here.

If something worries you

Severe pain, a change in skin colour, fever, or discharge — call 010 0000 0000 immediately, even if your session was not with us. At that point the complication matters more than who performed the procedure.

Medical acne treatment

No downtime

No downtime. Most regimens cause dryness and peeling in the first fortnight.

Before the session

  • List every medication you are taking
  • Disclose any possibility of pregnancy before the prescription

After the session

  • Daily moisturiser and sunscreen — not optional
  • Do not stop at the first improvement

Fractional CO₂ laser

Downtime 7 days

Redness and swelling for 3 days, peeling up to 7. Residual erythema can persist to 3 weeks in lighter skin.

Before the session

  • Stop topical retinoids one week before
  • Prophylactic antivirals if you have a herpes history
  • Do not attend with tanned skin

After the session

  • Occlusive ointment every two hours for the first 3 days
  • SPF 50+ daily for 3 months — this is what prevents post-laser pigmentation
  • Do not pick the crusts

Laser hair removal

Downtime 1 days

Perifollicular redness and mild swelling, settling within 24 hours.

Before the session

  • Shave the area the day before — do not wax or pluck
  • No creams or deodorant on the day

After the session

  • Sunscreen on exposed areas
  • No sauna or swimming for 48 hours

Nd:YAG laser

Downtime 2 days

Redness for a day or two. Larger vessels may bruise mildly for a week.

Before the session

  • Stop skin-lightening agents 3 days before
  • Avoid sun for a fortnight before

After the session

  • Daily sunscreen
  • Do not rub the area

Chemical peel

Downtime 3 days

Light flaking from day two to day four. Higher concentrations reach 5 days.

Before the session

  • Stop home exfoliation one week before
  • No waxing for 5 days before

After the session

  • SPF 50+ is mandatory
  • Do not peel the flaking skin off yourself

Microneedling

Downtime 2 days

Sunburn-like redness for 48 hours, then mild dryness.

Before the session

  • Stop topical retinoids 3 days before
  • Attend without make-up

After the session

  • No make-up for 24 hours
  • Simple moisturiser and sunscreen from day two

Botulinum toxin

No downtime

None. Injection points fade within an hour; occasional minor bruising.

Before the session

  • Stop aspirin and blood-thinning analgesics 3 days before if medically appropriate

After the session

  • Do not lie face-down for 4 hours
  • No strenuous exercise or sauna the same day
  • Do not massage the area

Dermal filler

Downtime 3 days

Swelling for two to three days, and possible bruising — up to a week under the eye.

Before the session

  • Stop blood thinners 3 days before if medically appropriate
  • Do not book within two weeks of an event

After the session

  • Cold compresses for the first 24 hours
  • Do not massage the area
  • If you develop severe pain or colour change, call immediately — this is the rare, serious complication

Hair mesotherapy

Downtime 1 days

Mild scalp tenderness during and for a few hours after.

Before the session

  • Wash your hair before the session
  • Bring any recent blood results

After the session

  • Do not wash your hair for 12 hours
  • No dye or chemical processing for 48 hours

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP)

Downtime 1 days

Scalp swelling and redness for one day.

Before the session

  • Hydrate well before the session
  • Do not attend fasting

After the session

  • Do not wash your hair for 12 hours
  • No NSAIDs for 48 hours — they blunt the effect

Medical pigmentation treatment

No downtime

None. Mild irritation and flaking in the first fortnight is expected.

Before the session

  • Bring every product you currently use
  • Photograph the patches in the same light monthly

After the session

  • Mineral sunscreen every 3 hours during daylight — more important than the cream itself
  • Hat and shade

Dermoscopic mole check

No downtime

None at all. It is a visual examination.

Before the session

  • No make-up and no nail polish — the nails are part of the examination

After the session

  • Keep the report for comparison
  • Return immediately if a lesion changes before the review date
